Center for Gulf Coast Environmental Health Home

Community Engagement

Our community engagement initiative facilitates collaborative research and the transfer of information between the department of environmental health sciences at Tulane and community based organizations along the Gulf Coast. The Center employs evidence based approaches to guide and deliver outreach and education programs. By providing leadership development and engaging a core of community stakeholders, we seek to empower and move communities toward solutions to pressing environmental health issues.

We have three main objectives:

  1. Develop tailored strategies for disseminating and translating research findings among Gulf Coast communities.
  2. Build community capacity by providing educational and outreach opportunities.
  3. Serve as a resource for environmental health information and expertise.
